If you’d saved up for years to treat yourself to the luxury motor of your dreams, what would it be? If a Porsche springs to mind, there’s now another luxury engine which falls right into your price range.
With its leather interior, carbon-fibre body and sleek alloy wheels, it’s definitely luxurious, and could be yours for just £50,000. With a top speed of 37mph, you’ll be able to feel a slight breeze in your hair and you’ll certainly turn heads.
The Garia Mansory Currus is the latest luxurious accessory, but, no, it’s not the new supercar on the scene, it’s a golf buggy. With a ‘genuine race car feel’ and a choice of driving modes, it costs five times more than most people’s cars, and is road legal in Europe, but will never reach 40mph.
Mansory – the designers behind the extravagant golf buggy – are responsible for customising supercars like Bentley, Bugatti and Ferrari, but this takes the luxury car market to a whole new level. At £50,000 they’re up there with price of a Porsche Cayman S, and, for the same price, you could buy a whole fleet of regular golf buggies.
What do you buy the golfer who has everything?
Garia are a Denmark based manufacturer, known for producing luxury golf buggies, but none have come up to the standard of the limited edition Currus model. Throw in the fact that only 7 will be produced and made available for sale, and it becomes an even more exclusive buy.
Anders Lynge, creative director at Garia, is quoted by the Daily Mail, explaining: ‘The Garia Roadster is really the closest you can get to a golf car version of your luxury sports car. We were inspired by the sense of freedom and joy you get from riding a sports car and we wanted to translate that experience to the golf car.’
The exclusive Currus is powered by lithium batteries and has an extended range of up to 60km (37 miles), so you won’t have to worry about your carbon footprint. It delivers in terms of practicality too, with two seats and space to hold two bags. Although it won’t get you quite as far as the 175mph Porsche which also falls into its price range, it’s sure to be the most impressive ride on the golf course.
Garia are hoping to appeal to golfers with plenty of money to spend, and probably those who already own their dream car. After all, there’s no point in getting out of your Porsche and into your bog standard golf buggy, is there?
